The Yogits are taking on their toughest opponent yet… The three peaks of Wales
(Y Wyddfa in the North, Cader Idris in Mid Wales and Pen-Y-Fan in South Wales) – in just 24 hours.
When are they doing this challenge?
Saturday 11 May 2024
How are they doing it?
- Leaving Ystradgynlais around 7PM on the 10th, we will start our adventure at Pen Y Pass at midnight to walk to the peak at Y Wyddfa. The first walk of the challenge being 5 hours.
- Two-hour drive to Ty Nant for the start of the Pony Path for Cadair Idris – for another 5 hour walk up and down.
- Three-hour drive and rest to Storey Arms to walk to the summit of Pen-Y-Fan for another 4 hours walk.
- Back in Ystradgynlais in the evening of the 11th to celebrate our day!!
Why take on this challenge?
Yogits was set up to provide physical and mental well-being to the middle aged and beyond – by using touch rugby as a mindful opportunity to provide connection and belonging – that only rugby can bring. These well-being activities provide a natural link to Mind Ystradgynlais.
They are our charity of choice to support in all fundraising activities that we have participated in over the years. The three peak challenge is a great opportunity for us all to connect, tick off a bucket list activity, raise awareness of Mind Ystradgynlais and the excellent work that they do, and raise money for a local charity at the heart of our community.
Thank you to all our donors!
