At the start of October 2023, I will be setting out on my next adventure. I am going be walking the length of the Andes, the longest mountain range on the planet. Starting from the south at the Beagle Channel, to the Caribbean Sea in. the north. It’s a journey of roughly 8,000 miles, 7 countries and an entire continent. Rammed with diversity both in nature, and culture.
This will take me 18-24 months to complete. This isn’t all about endurance for me, in fact, it’s a small fraction of the reason I want to do it. I want to learn as much as possible about the people, the culture, and the places that I experience along the way. I hope I can then pass that knowledge on, in the future.
I’d like to think this will give people an insight to what these parts of South America are really like.
I’ve dreamt of this adventure for a long time now. At the start of the year, my family had a brutal reminder that life can be very short. It bangs in my head every day. It’s for that reason that I will take on this expedition and follow my dreams.
I will be raising funds and awareness for the mental health charity ‘Mind Ystradgynlais’. A charity that I feel very strongly about and very fitting. There is no doubt that I will have my ups and downs along the way, just as in life in general. I hope we can raise as much money as possible to be put into practise, and help people get out of the dark and follow their dreams too.
I believe this journey could have a lot of exposure. I will have a regularly updated blog and social media- Head to @ollietrev on Instagram to see the latest updates.
Thank you to all my supporters
